Project Description
I am a painter. An oil painter to be more specific. I was born and raised on the Oklahoma prairie, where I earned my Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma in 2002. After working as an artist and portraitist in Minnesota and Virginia, my journey brought me to Vancouver, Washington. My studio is located in Vancouver’s lovely Hough neighborhood where I live with my husband Paul, our dog Maggie, and more cats than are advisable for accomplishing even the simplest of tasks.
The dance of beautiful colors and dynamic form lead me to my subject matter. Rather than confining myself to one kind of subject or genre I prefer to remain open to wherever my artistic inspiration leads me. Though my chosen medium is usually oil paint I can frequently be found creating with watercolor, inks and other media.
